PolarStar – Managed Services
Looking Ahead in 2008
By Bret Jones, PolarStar Practice Manager
2007 was a busy and exciting year for Polar Systems Managed Network Services (now PolarStar Network Services) team. We were able to double in size while also being recognized as one of the Top 100 Managed Service Providers in the world by the leading independent media outlet in our industry. Although the recognition is nice, we are focused on continuing to develop and improve the quality of the managed services that we provide.
With that in mind, I have listed some of the plans for PolarStar in the upcoming months.
We have already begun making significant improvements to the infrastructure that helps us run PolarStar. Work is happening behind the scenes every day. One goal is to improve the technology we use to provide more comprehensive and efficient service. The other goal is to improve our infrastructure to meet the increasing demand for PolarStar services.
While the infrastructure is important, we are also working on ways to improve the interaction with our PolarStar clients. Some of the things we have already begun to implement include a Web Portal that allows direct access to the PolarStar ticketing system, more regular check-in calls from our Primary Engineer staff, priority access to our support team and the development of surveys that will allow PolarStar clients to tell us how we can better serve them.
Expanding the types of services that Polar Systems offers as part of the PolarStar program is also an area we are working on. We are evaluating and testing solutions in areas such as Intrusion Detection and Prevention, Off-site Storage and Backup, and improved Anti-Virus/Anti-Malware support. We are also listening to our clients to determine what services are needed for them.
2007 was a great year, but we intend to make 2008 an even better one. One in which we continually deliver better and better customer care, improve the capabilities of our current service offerings, and provide quality new services.
